"Masquerade” Altered Mask

Happy New Year!! Just six days ago, we kicked off a new year, with hopes and aspirations for it to be a great year! The celebration of the New Year, was my influence for this week’s project, an altered mask.

I then used gesso, followed by Modge Podge Matte medium, and paper from the Haberdashery collection by Paper Studio.
Using the BEAUTIFUL  White Venise Lace trim: http://www.creatingwithdetailsstore.com/#!product/prd1/3259631871/venise-white-lace-trim---1yd and  Embroidered  Tulle Lace trim: http://www.creatingwithdetailsstore.com/#!product/prd1/3259631871/venise-white-lace-trim---1yd - as my main focal pieces to add that elegant flair, leaving the full length of the tulle intact to be as a veil over the mask.

I then used a series of Flat Back Pearl‘s on the “winged “section of the mask including:http://www.creatingwithdetailsstore.com/#!product/prd1/3373128581/nestabling-heart-circles-pink-pearl, and using white Flat Back Pearls to accent around the eye’s.

The remaining embellishments included a white large Flat Back Pearl: http://www.creatingwithdetailsstore.com/#!product/prd1/3259623461/acrylic-18mm-ivory-pearl-cw42987-pack-of-6  to enhance the antique bronze clip.

On the opposite side of the mask, I used  from my personal stash, both the Ivory Tulle , bunched and gathered with tails, secured by a pearl and gemstone bronze brooch.
